The last two days have been amazing! Reuben Comfort Dog and I were invited to Bethlehem SCV in Santa Clarita, California to join their Vacation Bible School. The wonderful kids and counselors at VBS were so welcoming and loving. We could not have had a better time! We got to hear some fantastic stories from the Bible and see the kids as they came into Story Time. The theme of VBS was called “Splash Canyon”. We learned about God’s faithful promises and that Jesus is with us through life’s wild ride. Reuben and I now have 200+ more friends!
Reuben Comfort Dog and I had a lot of fun playing in the large field at Bethlehem. We got to take our breaks and play frisbee and ball. We have so much fun together.
The kids at VBS decided that their offerings this week would be for the Comfort Dog Ministry. The boys and girls had a competition to see who could raise the most money. Pastor Joe said that he would agree to have two buckets of ice water dumped on him if the kids could raise over $1,000. Oh boy did he get wet! The kids were able to raise over $1,400 for the Comfort Dog Ministry! What a blessing they are and we are so thankful to all of them. This will help us reach more people and share the comfort and love of Jesus. Praise God!
Rueben Comfort Dog and I had the privilege of meeting so many special kids. One young boy gave us such wonderful hugs and was very fun to visit with. He gave us the best compliment and said that we were “furry medicine”. We had learned that he just recently lost his Golden Retriever. We were so blessed that we were able to comfort him.
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
