Oh happy day! We have said our prayers and are beginning our road trip. We are off to the 7th Annual Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog Conference. I will join 100 other comfort dogs from around the U.S. in Northbrook IL. If you’re in the area and would like to meet 100 pups like me, we are having a meet and greet on Thursday July 26th at 7:00 pm @Hilton Chicago in Northbrook. I hope to see you soon!
Tahoe National Forest is located in the state of California, northwest of Lake Tahoe.
I can’t believe how many natural resources are here. Hundreds of lakes and reservoirs, river canyons carved through granitebedrock, and many miles of trails are just outside my window. I could spend weeks here and I still would not see it all. God sure knows how to build beautiful places for us to visit.
The Donner Party, was a group of American pioneers that set out for California in a wagon train in May 1846. Departing from Independence, Missouri, they were delayed by a series of mishaps and mistakes, and spent the winter of 1846–47 snowbound in the Sierra Nevada.
Here I am at the top of Donner Summit, elevation 7,057. The air is so clear and crisp. I think we should explore a few hiking trails before hopping back into the car.
Stay tuned as I update you on my travels of the people I meet and places I see.
