I started my day by joining my fellow comfort dogs, Lois and Reuben at Faith Community Lutheran Church. We learned that the church is expecting a comfort dog of their own in the near future. We are so excited that Las Vegas will have a second dog to help bring comfort to their community. This little girl was so sweet to color a picture of me. I enjoyed meeting so many new people that I now get to call my friends. After we finished our visit at Faith Community, we took a break for lunch, which means I got to take a nap under the table while my handlers enjoyed a nice meal together.
After lunch it was off to Sunrise Hospital.
I sure love Reuben’s van! There is so much room and the a/c works terrific, which is important down here in the desert.
I recall that last year we spent a lot of time at Sunrise Hospital. We met with so many patients, families and staff. Today we visited with some of the staff. It was so good to see familiar faces. Oh how we have missed these very dedicated and loving members of the medical team. It is hard to comprehend how much trauma these professionals have experienced in their day to day jobs. We are humbled to be in their presence and we know that what they do is not easy.
Please join our team in praying for: the medical workers, that as they move forward in their professional and personal lives that the peace from God will help sustain them and shine light into their lives each and every day. Amen!
