LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry Update
“Walking Together / Serving as One”
I am so blessed to make new friends wherever I go. My friends at the California Veteran’s Home in Yountville look forward to our visits each week. I look forward to seeing them too. Their kind words and hugs make my tail wag. I welcome their gentle touch.
Recently, I made a new friend there as I was walking across the beautiful grounds with my handlers. This kind lady hugged me and told me that she really needed a golden hug. I gladly obliged. She said I made her day! She asked if I could come back and visit her again. On our next visit, I gave her a stuffed Aaron Comfort Dog. She was delighted to have this source of comfort until we could meet again. I visited this special friend again last weekend. She told me she had held me close to her heart when she was feeling sad. This contact had greatly eased her pain. I am so honored to share the mercy and compassion of Christ!
My handlers have provided numerous people with miniature Aaron Comfort dogs. Some are given to those who miss their pets. Some go to those who are anxious or in crisis. Some go to those who are lonely. And some go to children or adults who are so happy to have a miniature me to hold!
As I head into each new week, I know God will place me, and at times, a mini me, in the places I am most needed. What a privilege and a joy to share His love!
