I discovered some interesting facts about Nebraska. For instance, did you know that the largest porch swing in the world is located in Hebron and it can sit 25 adults. I wonder if 25 people sitting together would be able to keep it swinging? I have seen two humans try to ride a bike together and that doesn’t always go right.
Okay for my Hollywood buffs out there. Did you know that Marlon Brando’s mother gave Henry Fonda acting lessons at the Omaha Community Playhouse?
The 911 system of emergency communications, now used nationwide, was developed and first used in Lincoln, Nebraska. This year is the 5oth anniversary of the 911 system. Wow, just think how many lives have been saved due to this national response system. We’re so thankful for all of those that serve our local communities to keep them safe.
Nebraska has more miles of river than any other state. Let’s say there doesn’t appear to be in shortage of water here.
Here is my favorite fact that I learned about Nebraska: It is the birthplace of the Reuben sandwich. This makes me smile because by LCC K9 buddy is named Reuben. I will never look at him the same again.
Thanks for following me on my cross country journey to Chicago. Be sure to watch for my updates on FB, IG and TW from the LCC K9 Conference over the next few days. I will continue my blog when we set out on our return journey to California next week.
